Rolex began its association with the Daytona International Speedway, home of the 24 At Daytona endurance race, in 1959. By 1992 Rolex had become the title sponsor of that race, which developed in the meantime into one of the most prestigious competitions in its category, along with Les 24 Heures du Mans. The Rolex 24 At Daytona is held annually and is the only competition of its kind in North America. The 3.56-mile (5.73 km) Daytona International Speedway is a combined course made up of portions of the NASCAR tri-oval and an infield road course. The race is known for featuring top racers and high-powered prototypes in the ultimate test of man and machine.
